Job summary

Anduril Industries in Lexington, MA seeks a Senior Thermal Analyst to own thermal design across hardware programs from concept to production. You will build analytical models, run first-order calculations, and guide preliminary design decisions based on physical principles.

Qualifications

• MS or higher in engineering or applied physics with focus on heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• 7+ years in a thermal analysis or thermo-physics role.
• Thermal FEA experience – STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm.
• Familiarity with Matlab or Python for analytical models and data processing.
• Experience with test-model correlation and test-based characterization.
• Ability to work independently and with stakeholders.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Execute hand calculations, spreadsheet, and MATLAB/Python first-order models to inform path forward.
• Develop CFD models to predict temperatures and heat transfer, maintaining integrated FEMs.
• Perform test-model correlation testing to validate predictions.
• Collaborate with environmental test engineers for instrumentation and data processing.
• Prepare technical reports for internal and external customers.
• Stay current with thermal analysis techniques and industry standards.
