Job summary

Anduril Industries in Massachusetts seeks a Thermal Engineer to own thermal design across hardware programs from concept to production, developing validated models that enable rapid prototyping of cutting-edge systems. You will perform first-order analyses, CFD/FEA, and collaborate with environmental test teams to validate predictions and report findings to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

MS or higher in engineering or applied physics with focus on heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
7+ years of experience in a thermal analysis or thermo-physics analysis role.
Thermal FEA experience with STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm.
Familiarity with MATLAB or Python for developing analytical models and post-processing.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

Execute hand calculations, CFD, and FEM analyses to inform design decisions.
Develop CFD models to predict temperatures, heat transfer, and fluid characteristics.
Perform test-model correlation testing to validate analytical predictions.
Collaborate with environmental test engineers on instrumentation, testing, and data processing.
Prepare technical reports for internal teams, management, and external customers.
