Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Lead Engineer 1 - Thermal Dynamics to provide analytical modeling capabilities for the systems engineering team, leading component and system-level studies and developing architectures to meet customer requirements. The role collaborates with program management on thermal modeling and analysis, builds system models, and maintains model libraries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience across key aerospace disciplines including requirements management, verification and validation, mechanical design, materials, modeling/documentation, and controls.
• Deep expertise in thermal fluid sciences including fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
• Experience with thermal fluid systems analysis and modeling, including nonlinear and gradient-based solvers and optimization.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist Systems Engineer in developing program system architecture and technical approach, including thermal and controls analysis.
• Identify and manage technical risks related to thermal performance.
• Lead modeling and analysis efforts and coordinate with other engineering groups.
• Ensure successful modeling, analysis, and testing development for programs with Systems Engineer and Program Manager.
• Manage thermal and performance requirements traceability and verification activities.
• Decompose high-level requirements into lower-level specs for internal teams and suppliers.
