Job summary

SimuTech Group is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to deliver technical support and training across the U.S. and Canada. You will work with end-users on Thermal Desktop, Icepak, and Fluent, developing content and guiding customers through analysis, design options, and reporting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience in thermal simulation, strong CFD knowledge, and the ability to lead teams and pre-sales activities. This is a remote-friendly FT role with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.
• Master's or PhD preferred.
• Significant experience performing thermal simulations using Thermal Desktop and Icepak.
• Experience in customer-facing or consulting environments.
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and numerical methods.
• Expertise in CFD domains (multiphase flow, combustion, turbomachinery, aerodynamics, FSI, or heat transfer).
• Advanced experience with ANSYS Thermal Desktop, Icepak, and Fluent.
• Experience with meshing tools (Workbench Meshing, ICEM, Fluent Meshing, HyperMesh).
• Ability to manage project scope, timelines, and cross-functional contributors.
• Ability to support pre-sales activities and contribute to software/services growth.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical support to end-users by phone, email, and in person.
• Develop and present tailored technical content for customers.
• Teach Thermal Desktop, Icepak, and Fluent classes at client sites, online, and in SimuTech offices in the U.S. and Canada.
• Determine customer analysis requirements and expectations.
• Perform analysis including meshing, boundary conditions, solving, post-processing, and reporting.
• Develop and evaluate alternative design solutions with customers.
• Prepare analysis reports and technical documentation.
• Provide mentorship and oversight to engineers.
• Partner with account managers to identify software needs.
• Answer technical questions during sales processes.
• Deliver software demonstrations and technical presentations on thermal topics.
