Job summary

Xcimer Energy in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Thermal Analyst to lead thermal-fluid analyses across Energy and Defense programs. You will evaluate cooling architectures, analyze steady-state and transient heat loads, and work with design engineers to integrate thermal results into system designs.

The role requires strong CFD skills, experience with STAR-CCM+ and ANSYS Fluent, and collaboration across teams to support prototype testing and validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a relevant engineering field with strong thermofluid background.
• 8+ years of thermal-fluid/CFD experience supporting engineered hardware (Energy, Aerospace, Laser Systems, HVAC).
• Proficient with commercial CFD tools (STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent) and CFD verification/validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal and CFD analyses for cooling systems, gas-flow pathways, and fusion chamber components.
• Build and maintain transient and steady-state thermo-fluid models including conduction, convection, radiation, turbulent flow, and compressible gas dynamics.
• Validate CFD and thermal models with analytical techniques, experimental data, and multi-physics correlations.
• Produce traceable analysis documentation for design reviews and test readiness.
• Peer review thermal/CFD analyses and maintain modeling best practices.
