Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Lead Engineer 1 - Thermal Dynamics to drive analytical modeling and system architecture for thermal performance across aerospace programs. You will lead modeling efforts, assess test data, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet customer requirements.

The role involves developing and maintaining system models, coordinating with program management, and guiding verification activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of relevant experience; advanced degrees count toward experience.
• Deep knowledge of thermal fluid sciences including flow, thermodynamics and heat transfer.
• Experience in thermal fluid systems analysis and modeling and in training nonlinear solvers.
• Familiarity with aerospace requirements management methodologies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing system architecture and technical approach for thermal performance.
• Identify and manage technical risks related to thermal performance.
• Lead modeling and analysis activities; coordinate with other engineering groups.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineer and Program Manager to ensure successful modeling, analysis and testing.
• Decompose requirements to lower-level specs for thermal and performance targets.
• Research and recommend technology investments to improve product health.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers during design development.
• Review and approve documentation from prototype to production.
• Provide engineering support for troubleshooting non-performing products.
