Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking an experienced Thermal Engineer to lead analysis for the MK1 Lunar Lander, from launch to lunar surface, mainly using Thermal Desktop. You will collect inputs, build models, and run worst-case scenarios.

The role requires 8+ years in thermal engineering, hands-on space hardware experience, and strong communication. You will publish reports, support design reviews, and mentor junior analysts as part of a collaborative and safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or equivalent).
• 8+ years in Thermal Engineering/Analysis in aerospace.
• Hands-on experience with thermal control systems for space.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluids, and thermodynamics for spacecraft.

Responsibilities

• Collect inputs from stakeholders and engineers across vehicle teams.
• Develop new or modified thermal models representing vehicle configuration.
• Create analysis cases to evaluate thermal performance in worst-case scenarios.
• Analyze component and system thermal performance using a range of techniques.
• Post-process results and draw engineering conclusions for decisions.
• Publish analysis reports to support engineering decisions.
• Generate and present design review content to partners and customers.
• Mentor junior thermal analysts.
