Job summary

RTX Corporation is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Test Systems Engineering (TSE) family in Jupiter, FL. You will design complex mechanical, electrical, and test infrastructure for jet engine and component testing, leading multidisciplinary teams to meet safety, budget, and schedule requirements.

You will collaborate with BOM CIPTs, Test Operations, FCS, and Data Recording to ensure seamless STE integration, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 8 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree with 5 years of engineering experience.
• 5 years of experience in design engineering.
• US Citizenship is required, as only US citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems or sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex design solutions independently or leading multidisciplinary teams of design engineers.
• Partner with civil/structural, electrical, and project engineering teams to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Communicate within and outside the Test Systems Engineering department to progress STE design.
• Lead and support technical design reviews with stakeholders and chief engineers.
• Create product definition documentation, including drawings and models.
• Generate assembly documentation and lead field verification and validation plans.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Incorporate Engineering Standard Work into everyday design practices.
• Travel up to 10% domestically for site coordination and project execution.
