Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Test Engineer for the Alabama Test Operations team in Huntsville, AL, to sustain the 4670 Engine Test Stand facility and support upgrades. You'll develop maintenance plans, analyze failures, and mentor staff while ensuring safe, repeatable operations in a demanding propulsion environment.

Responsibilities include leading root-cause investigations, coordinating with vendors, and integrating new technologies to improve O&M.

Qualifications

• Experience in a test, propulsion, industrial, energy, or similar hardware-rich environment.
• Working knowledge of high-pressure, cryogenic, hydraulic, pneumatic, data acquisition, and electrical power systems.
• Foundations in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
• Ability to perform data analysis and recommend dispositions based on performance.
• Instrumentation knowledge including pressure transducers, thermocouples, diodes, RTDs, flow meters, accelerometers.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, requirements, and drawings.
• Ability to work safely around pressurized systems up to 6,000 PSIG.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Safety-first, continuous improvement mindset; capable of adapting to changing requirements.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. with access to Redstone Arsenal.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plans, process architecture, and maintenance requirements for test facilities.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures and drive permanent problem resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support functional testing of components using high-pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, and cryogenics.
• Coordinate with external vendors for preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Participate in Readiness and Risk reviews to ensure safety compliance.
• Provide technical support for new designs to ensure maintainability and operability.
• Operate as a certified technician to return systems to service and activate upgrades.
