Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Test Engineer III to lead test efforts in data processing and avionics systems for mission critical aerospace and defense applications. This role ensures product reliability, performance, and security across the full engineering lifecycle from concept to sustainment.

You will work on-site in Torrance, CA with cross-functional teams to develop test strategies, write procedures, and validate hardware and software under MIL-STD guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires 4+ years of experience testing electrical hardware or other military based systems.
• Experience with mixed-signal PCBA and system validation test development.
• Experience in developing and executing verification and validation test procedures.
• Experience testing ruggedized servers for harsh environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure test systems comply with quality requirements, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to ensure products are testable, including qualification, verification and validation requirements.
• Develop, specify and/or procure test equipment that meets quality objectives and manufacturing needs.
• Create and maintain test documentation such as ATP, QTP, FTP using MIL-STD-810G/H, MIL-STD-704A, MIL-STD-461F & G.
• Oversee and conduct functional, environmental, stress, and security testing of hardware and software systems.
• Perform testing on-site and at testing contract facilities with minimal supervision.
• Produce test reports, presentations, and CDRLs for contractual deliverables.
• Train/cross-train test and troubleshooting techniques with Production test team.
• Troubleshoot systems and circuit card assemblies to identify root causes and resolve issues.
• Lead troubleshooting activities and investigate causes of failures across assemblies and test equipment.
• Collaborate with Mission Assurance teams for root cause analyses during testing and sustainment.
