Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Test Engineer III to lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans for advanced aerospace and defense systems. The role covers system-level to post-production testing, ensuring compliance, performance, and safety across mission equipment including communication, computing, navigation, and surveillance systems.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, prepare detailed test reports, and ensure procedures meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in test engineering or related role.
• Higher level degree may substitute for experience.
• Advanced understanding of test and evaluation principles.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Knowledge of requirements management & system integration.
• Experience planning, conducting and documenting V&V activities.
• Ability to read schematics, follow test procedures, and troubleshoot.
• Experience with test automation & CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans and procedures.
• Oversee system-, sub-system-, and component-level testing including functional, performance, and environmental tests.
• Analyze test data, identify root causes, and provide actionable recommendations in reports.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and facilitate resolution of issues and anomalies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and strategies.
• Ensure test processes and equipment meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Generate content and lead internal/external meetings and briefs.
