Job summary

Captech Consulting seeks a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test suites across web, mobile, and API layers. You will collaborate with developers and analysts to translate acceptance criteria into concrete test scenarios and drive quality signals through CI/CD pipelines.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in agile ceremonies, and contribute to reusable automation accelerators. A strong background in UI automation and API testing is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years of software quality engineering experience with at least 2 years in test automation.
• Hands-on with UI automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Experience with API testing, REST services, authentication patterns, and contract/schema validation.
• Experience integrating automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.
• Solid understanding of agile delivery, SDLC, and defect management.
• Strong written and verbal communication to explain testing decisions to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Build reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and behavior-driven patterns.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to generate quality signals on each build.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate acceptance criteria into test scenarios.
• Triage failing tests and distinguish defects from environment issues.
• Mentor junior engineers on automation practices and test design.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planning to promote testability.
