Job summary

Captechconsulting is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated suites for web, mobile, and API-driven systems. You will work embedded within cross-functional delivery teams, partnering with developers, BAs, and clients to raise quality across engagements.

The role requires 3–6 years in software quality engineering, hands-on with Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, and experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• 3–6 years of professional experience in software quality engineering, with at least 2 years focused on test automation.
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Working knowledge of API testing, including REST services, authentication patterns, and contract/schema validation.
• Experience integrating automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and working with Git-based version control.
• Strong understanding of agile delivery, the software development lifecycle, and defect management workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain testing decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Build and extend reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and behavior-driven patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for meaningful quality signals on every build.
• Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to translate acceptance criteria into test scenarios.
• Triage failing tests, isolate root causes, and distinguish product defects from test instability or environment issues.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing with specialist teams.
• Define and report quality metrics such as coverage, defect escape rate, and pipeline stability.
