Job summary

Captechconsulting is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test suites for client engagements spanning web, mobile, and API-driven systems. You will work embedded in cross-functional delivery teams, partnering with developers, business analysts, and client stakeholders to make quality a continuous, measurable part of the software delivery lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of software quality engineering experience with hands-on UI

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
3–6 years of professional software quality engineering experience.
Hands-on UI automation with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright or Cypress.
Experience API testing and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Git-based version control.
Solid understanding of agile delivery and defect management workflows.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers.
Build and extend reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and behavior-driven patterns.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for meaningful quality signals.
Collaborate with product owners and analysts to translate acceptance criteria into test scenarios.
Triage failing tests, isolate root causes, and distinguish defects from test issues.
Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing efforts.
Define and report quality metrics to technical teams and client leadership.
Mentor junior engineers and client team members on automation practices and test design.
Participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planning to advocate for testability.
