Collins Aerospace, a RTX company, seeks a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer for onsite work in Coralville, IA. You will join a team responsible for test, assembly, and delivery of aerospace products, including ground navigation and unmanned autopilot systems.

The role emphasizes improving test yields, throughput, and equipment reliability. You will analyze failures, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive process improvements across multiple assembly steps to boost

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Manufacturing or electrical component troubleshooting experience.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with equipment and factory layouts.
  • Experience with SQL/Sequel programming.
  • Ability to read schematics and analyze test data.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve test yields, production throughput, test capacity, and overall product quality.
  • Identify component test failure trends and perform root cause analysis.
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve test failures and downtime.
  • Prepare test failure analysis reports for production.
  • Study performance and reliability of test equipment and reduce downtime.
  • Support technicians and resolve complex test failures quickly.
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple assembly process steps.
  • Develop tools that enable manufacturing or increase production rates.
  • Implement procedures and process improvements based on safety, quality, and productivity.
