Job summary

Merck is seeking a Senior Territory Representative to lead sales and market development across parts of the U.S. Midwest region, with a focus on Eastern North Dakota, Northwest Minnesota, and Northeast South Dakota.

You will build relationships with veterinarians, producers, and distribution partners while driving growth of Merck Animal Health products. The role requires strong account management and field-sales skills, plus ability to travel extensively and collaborate with cross-functional

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Animal Science, Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Five (5) years of relevant sales, livestock production, animal health, agricultural, or territory management experience with a bachelor's degree; or Ten (10) years of relevant sales, livestock production, animal health, agricultural, or territory management experience without a bachelor's.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory business plans to drive sales growth and market share expansion.
• Build and maintain relationships with veterinarians, producers, distribution partners, nutritionists, and industry influencers.
• Identify opportunities, market dynamics, and competitive threats; develop strategies to capitalize on growth opportunities.
• Drive demand generation and product utilization through customer engagement, field events, and education.
• Partner with distribution teams and internal stakeholders to align objectives and maximize territory performance.
• Communicate customer insights and market intelligence to leadership for strategic planning.
