Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad Senior Electronic Technician position in Engineering focuses on repair, maintenance, and installation of VHF, UHF, and licensed microwave radio systems that support real-time data across the Union Pacific Network. You will work to ensure reliability and safety while supporting voice and data connectivity.

Responsibilities include servicing mobile and base radios, microwave links, SCADA radios, network hardware, and associated equipment.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication to coworkers and supervisors.
  • Safety awareness and safe-work practices.
  • Ability to assist and direct others.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair telecommunications facilities in your territory.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair mobile/base radios and microwave systems.
  • Operate and troubleshoot SCADA radios and RF transmission equipment.
  • Provide support for internal customer devices.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Respond to service restoration calls, including weather-related outages.
  • Ensure critical equipment is repaired promptly to maintain train service.
