Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking a Signal System Technician to ensure safe and efficient railroad operations. You will conduct signal testing per FRA/UP requirements, install and repair crossing warning devices, and lead maintenance tasks.

A drive license, English proficiency, and safety-focused mindset are essential. The role requires readiness for field work and compliance with Union Pacific safety rules.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and provide safe driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret both non-technical and technical information.
  • Proficient in English with good communication skills.
  • Must complete an English assessment prior to interviewing.
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations in all tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect signal circuitry, equipment and systems to identify defects.
  • Test signal systems per FRA and UP requirements.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in signal circuitry and equipment.
  • Assemble/disassemble signal crossing devices as needed.
  • Plan, organize and track activities; provide guidance to teammates.
  • Comply with FRA standards and safety procedures.
