Job summary

Piedmont Community College in Yanceyville, NC seeks a Technology Support Engineer to maintain and secure its tech infrastructure. This on-site role requires leadership on projects, automation of workflows, and mentoring to ensure secure computing across campuses.

The engineer will manage Windows/macOS devices via Intune/AutoPilot, administer AD/Azure/365, and support network and VoIP systems, with after-hours on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in IT or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in technical support, systems administration, or network operations.
• Demonstrated expertise in Windows desktop management and Microsoft 365 administration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource and escalation point for complex issues involving hardware, software, and networked systems.
• Configure, deploy, and manage Windows and macOS devices through enterprise management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, AutoPilot, PDQ Deploy, and AutoElevate.
• Administer Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 services, including identity, access, security, and endpoint configuration policies.
• Support and monitor network connectivity, VLANs, wireless access, and VoIP systems to ensure consistent uptime and performance.
• Collaborate with Information Security to implement cybersecurity controls, maintain GLBA Safeguards compliance, and ensure secure configurations across endpoints.
• Develop, document, and automate recurring administrative tasks using PowerShell, Group Policy, or equivalent scripting tools.
