Battle Tested is seeking a Senior Technology Manager to oversee AML and financial crimes application production support. Senior Technology Manager – AML & Financial Crimes Application Support

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced technology leader to oversee production support for critical Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and financial crimes applications within a large financial institution.

This role leads the teams responsible for keeping these platforms stable, resilient, secure, and available. You will set the support strategy, strengthen operational controls, develop technology talent, and partner with senior leaders across Technology, Risk, Compliance, and the business.

Direct experience supporting financial crimes technology platforms within a large financial institution is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing application production support organization responsible for AML and financial crimes platforms.
• Establish a technology support strategy that aligns platform reliability, service delivery, and modernization with business priorities.
• Oversee incident, problem, change, capacity, and event management, along with service requests, service analytics, and reporting.
• Drive resolution of critical production issues, communicate business impact, and ensure corrective actions address underlying causes.
• Partner with application owners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and remediation that improve stability and resilience.
• Maintain application health, performance, security, and adherence to enterprise data management standards.
• Ensure production operations meet applicable governance, risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Support audits, regulatory examinations, and remediation efforts through effective controls and sustainable operational improvements.
• Build strong relationships with senior leaders across Technology, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and business teams.
• Manage workforce planning, hiring, budgets, expenses, and resource allocation.
• Set measurable service quality and team performance objectives, using data to guide continuous improvement.
• Coach managers and engineers, provide performance feedback, and build career development and succession plans.
• Advance automation, DevOps practices, and modern delivery methods to improve support efficiency and service reliability.
• Create an inclusive, accountable working environment and remove barriers to team execution.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a senior technology leader, with a demonstrated record of leading technology support teams.
• Deep experience supporting AML or other financial crimes technology platforms within large financial institutions, including sanctions, KYC/CDD, or transaction monitoring.
• Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including knowledge of production support for proprietary and third-party applications.
• Working knowledge of the ITIL framework and its application to technology service management.
• Experience managing production application stability, resilience, performance, and operational risk.
• Ability to identify emerging technology and business risks, elevate concerns, and drive resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical teams, business partners, and senior executives.
• Proven ability to lead with urgency and sound judgment while maintaining team confidence and focus.
• Demonstrated success developing talent, managing stakeholders, and delivering business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading technology organizations through regulatory remediation, consent orders, audits, or heightened regulatory scrutiny.
• A record of improving operational resilience and service reliability for critical applications in highly regulated environments.
• Ability to bring structure and clear accountability to complex, ambiguous challenges.
• Experience aligning Product, Architecture, Engineering, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Regulatory Affairs teams around shared priorities.
• Executive presence and the ability to communicate strategy, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly.
• Relevant certifications in financial crimes compliance, risk management, cloud technologies, or related disciplines, such as CAMS.
