The Software Engineer Lead will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert supporting full-stack application enhancements and data/application pipeline development within financial crime regulatory functions.
The role focuses on secure, highly available, and compliant technology solutions across AML, transaction screening, sanctions screening, and related data pipelines.
This position requires deep hands‑on expertise across Java, React JS, Microservices, Python, PySpark, Hadoop/Iceberg, various databases, and vendor tools such as Nice Actimize, FircoSoft, and Lexis Nexis Suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical lead and SME for full-stack application development and support initiatives.
- Design and implement secure, reliable data and application pipelines with DevSecOps integrations.
- Contribute to enhancements and support activities for applications used in financial crime and regulatory functions.
- Work with technologies including Java, React JS, Microservices, Python, PySpark, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Oracle, Hadoop/Iceberg.
- Utilize vendor applications such as Nice Actimize, FircoSoft, and Lexis Nexis Suite.
- Support modeling development on platforms such as Oracle FCCM.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate requirements and develop technical solutions.
- Conduct system testing, validation procedures, and support documentation development.
- Troubleshoot issues and implement system changes as needed.
- Communicate project status, proposals, and technical issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership within a team environment.
- Ensure software development follows industry best practices and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
- 8–20 years of experience in software engineering or related technical roles.
- Strong experience with Java, React JS, Microservices, Python, and PySpark.
- Hands‑on expertise with MongoDB, Oracle, Elasticsearch, Hadoop/Iceberg.
- Experience with Nice Actimize, FircoSoft, and Lexis Nexis Suite.
- Background supporting financial crime regulatory functions such as AML, sanctions screening, and related data pipelines.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle including analysis, requirements gathering, development, testing, and delivery.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and resolve technical issues.
- Experience developing APIs, frameworks, and core business logic.
- Engineering education background in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as ACAMS or cloud certifications (AWS/Azure).
- Experience with modeling on Oracle FCCM platform.
- Experience with financial services or product‑based enterprise environments.
