Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA Health Technology Management Services (HTMS) contract. The role focuses on managing artifacts for senior leadership, ensuring QA of documents for VAMC personnel during EHR transitions.

This position is fully remote within the United States with standard hours 8 am to 5 pm ET. The writer will craft clear narratives from diverse sources, ensure editorial consistency, and collaborate with experts to produce executive-ready deliverables

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with UX software certifications, or 5-7 years substituted for education.
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies.
• Advanced proficiency in core Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience operating in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications/artifacts with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complicated issues into a concise narrative for senior leadership.
• Applies editorial styles and standards across documentation.
• Develops ad hoc artifacts for executive VA leadership.
• Creates documentation based on new processes/procedures throughout the fiscal year.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to aid in deliverables.
• Reviews technical documentation for quality of content and formatting.
• Drafts accurate, succinct meeting minutes with short turnaround times.
• Supports continuous improvement by reviewing artifacts shared with key VAMC personnel.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields
