Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA HTMS Contract. The role focuses on managing artifacts for senior leadership, QA of documents for VA Medical Center personnel, and ensuring effective communication during the EHR transition.

Fully remote within the United States with standard EST hours. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a related field, 5+ years of experience or 3-5 years with UX certifications, and strong Microsoft Office and agile experience to produce concise,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, computer science, information systems, operations research or related field with 5+ years of experience (or commensurate).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in relevant UX software or 5-7 years of relevant experience may substitute education
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience operating in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complex issues into a clear narrative for senior leadership and VA audiences.
• Applies editorial styles and standards to documentation.
• Develops ad hoc artifacts for executive VA leadership.
• Creates docs for newly identified processes/procedures across fiscal year.
• Collaborates with SMEs to develop comprehensive deliverables.
• Gathers knowledge through daily team participation.
• Reviews content for quality and formatting.
• Maintains and updates the team communications plan with PM.
• Drafts accurate meeting minutes with short turnaround times.
