Job summary

TransCore, a ST Engineering subsidiary, is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join the Smart Mobility Ecosystems team in Nashville or Atlanta. This role will build scalable documentation for the Smart Mobility platform, including API references, integration guides, and architecture overviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, English, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 5-8 years as a Technical Writer in a software product environment.
• Experience producing API, SDK, and developer platform documentation.
• Experience establishing information architecture and documentation standards.
• Experience creating API references, developer portals, and cloud service guides (Azure preferred).
• Proficient in visual communication and producing technical diagrams.
• Ability to interpret OpenAPI/Swagger specs and document them clearly.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
• Familiar with Confluence, Azure, Visio, Figma, and Kiro is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build from zero: create API references, integration guides, and system architecture overviews.
• Collaborate on architecture to define information architecture, taxonomy, and navigation.
• Enforce standards by aligning with documentation style guides and voice throughout products.
• Translate complex specs, code samples, and system logic into clear resources for diverse audiences.
• Deliver market-ready developer documentation aligned with product releases.
• Manage continuous maintenance and auditing of the knowledge base as the portfolio evolves.
