Job summary

Starburst is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to own complex documentation initiatives end to end in a fast-moving, highly technical environment. We want someone who can influence how content is structured and delivered at scale and help the team succeed with AI-assisted tooling.

You will partner with software engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to extract accurate technical detail, drive review cycles, and lead documentation work tied to major platform initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical writing experience with a portfolio of developer-facing or data infrastructure documentation.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and make sound content decisions without close supervision.
• Experience owning documentation for complex SaaS, cloud, or data platform products.
• Proven ability to manage SME relationships, including driving review cycles and escalating blockers.

Responsibilities

• Own planning, writing, and continuous improvement of highly technical documentation including configuration, deployment, integration, and query content.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and SMEs to extract accurate technical detail and drive timely reviews.
• Lead documentation work tied to major platform and product initiatives.
• Evaluate content for AI consumability and discoverability, including AI-assisted drafting considerations.
