As an Associate Technical Writer with the Technical Documentation Team, you will be responsible for the intake, creation, and updating of client-facing documentation related to API, integration, basic test execution, and general best practices, ensuring that publications meet quality standards. will review an inbound queue of product documentation update requests, confirming that those requests are assigned efficiently and completed in a timely manner in alignment with company communication standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with software engineers, developers, solution architects, technical product managers, and product management teams to research, write, edit, and enhance product documentation and APIs for the Developer Hub (external, client-facing documentation) and other documentation projects.
- Capturing complex technical concepts and jargon and translating them into accessible, detailed content.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to get necessary information to shape product documentation into an easy-to-understand format for clients.
- Expertise in writing and editing original technical user documentation, resulting in polished and professional final documentation for advanced engineering clients, including API references, user guides, release notes, installation guides, tutorials, and other materials.
- Continuously updating and refining existing documentation to reflect new features, enhancements, and best practices.
- Maintaining the One Inc. Technical Writers' Style Guide and Best Practices.
Skills & Abilities
- 1-2+ years of technical writing experience with a proven record of delivering complete technical documentation solutions for complex products.
- Experience writing for software products.
- Exposure to writing APIs and technical documentation.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, whether in small group discussions, large-scale presentations, or with executives.
- Exceptional collaboration, partnership, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Familiar with Jira and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
- Able to use ReadMe documentation software editing tools or similar documentation tools.
