Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago seeks a Technical Software Support Lead to manage L2/L3 production support for Asset Management front-office and trade routing apps. You will coordinate with global teams, analyze complex issues, and implement fixes while ensuring adherence to IT controls and service standards.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in financial tech, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of Oracle SQL, Unix/Linux, and cloud technologies. Some after-hours support may be required.

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of technical experience in financial services is required.
• Strong leadership within a global technology organization.
• Experience supporting asset management front-office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with incident management workflows and escalation procedures.
• Proficiency in Oracle SQL; Unix/Linux; SQL Server; Python; Azure; cloud tech.
• Familiarity with JSON, .NET, and Java is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Asset Management applications.
• Monitor production workflows and apply expert issue resolution.
• Analyze and resolve production incidents; implement code fixes when needed.
• Coordinate with business teams and IT controls; ensure compliance.
• Build relationships with IT and business stakeholders; support escalation.
• Participate in after-hours/on-call coverage for critical incidents.
• Improve supportability through ongoing service improvements.
• Develop knowledge of NT systems and products via available docs.
