Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Analyst, Software Engineering to support and enhance a suite of business-critical applications used by our partners and clients. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys investigating production issues, partnering with business users, and delivering code fixes and enhancements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
2+ years of experience supporting and developing enterprise applications.
Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
Strong SQL skills with experience troubleshooting relational databases.
Experience debugging across application, database, and integration layers.

Responsibilities

Provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support for critical business applications.
Partner with business users and stakeholders to understand issues and requirements.
Perform root-cause analysis of issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Develop, test, and deploy fixes and enhancements using Java/Spring.
Analyze SQL queries and database structures to diagnose data issues and improve performance.
Participate in release validation, UAT, and deployments.
Monitor application health and improve reliability and supportability.
Prepare technical docs and operational procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery and support.
Support project initiatives with analysis, design, testing, and implementation.
