Job summary

GAF Commercial is seeking a Manager Technical Services to lead analytical and process initiatives at the plant, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and cost control. You will provide support to all departments to meet plant goals.

This role requires a BA/BS, 5+ years in manufacturing, 3+ years in leadership, and strong communication, Excel, Lean/Six Sigma, and budgeting skills for cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Excellent communication: written, verbal and listening.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong planning and organization with multiple priorities.
• Proven problem solving with statistical expertise and leading teams.
• Financial/budget awareness including product costing.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Lean manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma methodology.
• Analytical troubleshooting and quality process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in statistical applications, process capability, and problem solving.
• Coordinate plant technical support activities and participate in improvement projects.
• Capture and implement best practices; ensure root cause analysis is integral.
• Support production, QA, maintenance, purchasing and accounting with data and tools.
• Develop and maintain process standard databases and audit quality of finished goods.
• Maintain technical reporting with analysis of changes in plant conditions.
• Oversee trials for process improvement, raw materials and new products.
• Understand raw material tech for year-over-year BOM planning.
• Manage quality department personnel and development opportunities.
• Lead capital projects to improve cost and quality; sometimes manage projects.
