Job summary

American Battery Solutions Inc. is seeking a Technical Service Engineer to manage service-related mechanical and electrical issues across product lines.

You will handle 8D support, field service, complex customer cases, and testing/validation of components and systems. Responsibilities include leading analysis, documenting issues, guiding resolutions with engineering, and improving service processes while collaborating with manufacturing and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
• Minimum five years in complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Project management experience, including Lean/Six Sigma.
• Collaborative with strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and detail orientation.
• Willingness to travel ~25% domestically and internationally.
• Ability to work in a dynamic multi-faceted environment.
• Assertive and able to share opinions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct trip reports, design analysis and proposed solutions with complete and accurate complex case and issue documentation.
• Complete testing and analysis to verify proper functionality of the battery system based on direction from Engineering.
• Lead proposed solutions/improvements to processes and related systems.
• Resolve complex customer and field/warranty problems, including travel to OEMs, dealers, and field sites as required.
• Create troubleshooting documentation such as diagnostic charts and repair instructions.
• Lead design revisions / modifications / enhancements affecting field and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to impact production processes, tools, equipment, and design.
• Lead 8D problem solving and customer service issues.
• Coordinate with problem-solving teams and suppliers to resolve warranty problems.
• Improve service and repair time.
• Review technical documentation and provide input to engineering, purchasing, production, and suppliers.
• Lead instruction manuals and work instructions.
• Create troubleshooting documentation.
• Participate in project reviews and qualify serviceability of proposed design work.
• Review warranty data reports and set resolution targets.
• Adhere to regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties and maintain attendance.
