Job summary

ELANTAS North America, LLC is seeking a field-based technical sales professional to drive profitable growth in Liquid Coatings markets across Automotive and Industrial sub-segments. You will establish a strong technical presence with customers, influencers and prospects, and work with key accounts and MTS colleagues.

The role requires at least five years of experience, a science or engineering background, and proven ability to translate technical knowledge into sales opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years field technical experience in Automotive or Industrial Coatings.
• Portfolio of existing contacts within Automotive/Industrial Coatings including major players (S-W, PPG, RPM, Akzo, Axalta).
• Undergraduate science or engineering degree or equivalent tenure in specialty chemicals industry.
• Customer focus with ability to establish and maintain strong personal relationships.
• Ability to drive sales and generate profits through strong technical orientation and innovative approaches.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable growth by establishing a strong technical presence with customers and influencers within the Liquid Coatings markets.
• Conduct market research, technically oriented sales calls, training, customer contact and identify sales opportunities within Automotive and Industrial Coatings.
• Maintain market knowledge and develop strategic plans for Automotive/Industrial Coatings segments with colleagues.
• Monitor competitive landscape and maintain Market Intelligence in CRM; understand import statistics as part of competitive analysis.
• Prepare periodic reports and regularly update CRM showing sales volume, opportunities and status of pursuits.
• Communicate market needs back into the organization and pursue technical solutions for customers.
• Support Market Development plans as part of Global & Regional strategies leading to high-level business relationships.
• Represent the Company at trade shows, exhibitions and industry meetings; support marketing surveys.
• Support new product launches with coordination, partners, tools, testing and demand generation.
• Perform customer presentations and product demonstrations highlighting value-added benefits.
• Work with Technical Marketing, Laboratory and Customer Service to resolve issues.
