Job summary

Patronus AI in San Francisco is seeking a Technical Recruiter to own the end-to-end hiring process for researchers and engineers who build advanced AI systems. Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, including startup environments.
• Ability to hire engineers or researchers in competitive markets with multiple offers.
• Proven sourcing ability to identify candidates not actively applying.
• Technical fluency to read papers and assess qualifications before managers.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to close offers.
• Maintain clean ATS, honest pipeline reporting, evidence-based decisions.
• Eager to leverage AI to automate market mapping, outreach, and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruiting for technical roles across research, platform, product engineering and technical program management — intake through close.
• Source passive candidates from publications, citations, open-source work, conferences, academic networks and referrals.
• Partner with co-founders to translate vague needs into real roles, defining scope and success criteria.
• Develop domain fluency to evaluate technical qualifications beyond keywords.
• Close candidates, manage offers, and negotiate with founders.
• Own candidate experience end-to-end; ensure every candidate leaves with a positive impression.
• Use AI to automate market mapping, research, outreach and funnel analysis to focus on judgment calls.
• Report on pipeline health, time-to-fill, source effectiveness and outcomes; adjust strategies accordingly.
• Build increasingly ambiguous recruiting and People problem-solving capabilities as context evolves.
