Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to drive cross-functional planning and delivery for the IR Data Product Team. You will coordinate software, hardware, science, and product efforts from concept through launch, developing schedules, identifying gaps, and communicating risks to stakeholders.

You’ll ensure alignment, unblock issues, and scale development with disciplined processes while enabling fast, high-quality decisions in a complex, interdisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of software engineering or similar technical work.
• 3+ years coordinating software development projects.
• Experience establishing and optimizing software project management processes.
• Strong background in cloud computing, data pipelines and/or data science.
• Familiarity with software development methods, tools, and infrastructure.
• Proven ability to communicate with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading cross-functional planning, scheduling, and risk management.
• Results-oriented with clear accountability and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Program Planning & Roadmapping: Define objectives, scope, milestones, and success criteria with engineering and product stakeholders.
• Scheduling & Execution Management: Build and maintain project timelines, track dependencies, monitor progress, and adjust plans.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify risks early, coordinate mitigation plans, surface blockers, and drive timely resolution.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate collaboration across software, hardware, science, and product teams.
• Communication & Reporting: Provide concise, actionable updates to stakeholders and leadership.
• Process & Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and help implement better practices and tools.
• Resource & Capacity Planning: Forecast resource needs, track capacity, and support prioritization.
• Release Planning & Readiness: Coordinate software releases and communicate expectations.
