Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to drive cross-functional planning and execution for the IR Data Product Team. You will manage delivery of data processing improvements and new capabilities, coordinating with software, hardware, science, and product leaders from concept through launch.

You will develop schedules, flag risks, and ensure clear communication across stakeholders while scaling development discipline to support rapid, high‑quality decisions in a complex

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer or in a similar technical role.
• 3+ years of experience managing or coordinating software development projects.
• Able to establish and optimize software project management processes.
• Strong technical background in cloud computing, data pipelines, and data science.
• Solid knowledge of software development methods, tools, and infrastructure.
• Proven ability to communicate with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading cross-functional planning, scheduling, and risk management across multiple teams.
• Results-oriented with clarity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Program Planning & Roadmapping: define objectives, scope, milestones, and success criteria with engineering and product stakeholders.
• Scheduling & Execution Management: build and maintain timelines, track dependencies, and adjust plans as priorities shift.
• Risk & Issue Management: identify risks early, coordinate mitigations, surface blockers, and drive resolution.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: facilitate collaboration across software, hardware, science, and product teams.
• Communication & Reporting: provide concise updates to stakeholders and leadership on progress and decisions.
• Process & Continuous Improvement: identify inefficiencies and help implement better practices and tools.
• Resource & Capacity Planning: forecast resource needs and support staffing decisions.
• Release Planning & Readiness: coordinate software releases and communicate readiness criteria.
