Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Government Programs to lead production pipelines that process and deliver infrared mission data to government customers. You will own government‑facing data integration, ensuring secure operation in classified environments and compliance with government architectures.

The role emphasizes NITF formatting, metadata design, and collaboration with the BD team and IC end users to shape the technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or MS with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years building production software systems, including data or geospatial pipelines.
• Knowledge of US Government software architectures (NRO/IC).
• Experience integrating data delivery into government systems, preferably US Government.
• Experience building and operating high‑volume data processing pipelines in cloud environments.
• Python development, with comfort in related gov stacks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production software pipelines delivering data to government programs.
• Own software integration between Muon's data platform and US Government architectures.
• Deploy and maintain infrastructure delivering data into classified environments with security/compliance.
• Lead NITF formatting of Muon imagery including metadata design and validation.
• Write production‑ready code for processing and delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with BD and government end-users to translate needs into technical designs.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure government pipelines integrate with Muon systems.
