Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Government Programs to lead production pipelines that process and deliver data from IR missions to government programs. You will build and operate cloud-based pipelines, own integration with US Government architectures (NRO/IC), and drive NITF data formatting and metadata design with government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years or MS with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years building production software systems, including data or geospatial pipelines.
• Knowledge of US Government software architectures, especially NRO/IC.
• Experience integrating data delivery systems into US Government customers.
• Experience building and operating high-volume data pipelines in cloud environments.
• Strong Python development, with familiarity in government stacks.
• Ability to work in a distributed, interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced startup.
• Active US security clearance; TS/SCI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production software pipelines delivering data from Muon's IR missions to government programs.
• Own software integration between Muon's data platform and US Government architectures, including NRO systems.
• Deploy, operate, and maintain software infrastructure for classified environments with compliance requirements.
• Engineering owner for NITF file formatting of Muon's IR imagery, including metadata design and validation.
• Write production-ready code for data processing and delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with BD team and government end-users to translate needs into technical requirements and designs.
• Cross-functional work with software, data platform, systems engineering, and operations teams.
• Ensure product quality, data integrity, and governance of government-facing data products.
