Job summary

VEIR seeks a Principal Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end hardware product development from ideation through at-scale production and deprecation. You will manage the integrated PDP schedule, ensure Exit Gate readiness, and coordinate cross-functional interdependencies to meet milestones.

You will lead Technical Project Managers and set the program management standard, balancing technical trade-offs with business needs while driving risk mitigation and clear executive communication.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware product development program management.
• Deep knowledge of a phase‑gate product development process and gate readiness.
• Strong technical foundation: electrical, mechanical, thermal, and systems-level trade‑offs, Power electronics or superconducting experience a plus.
• Proven ability to build and own integrated master schedules across orgs.
• Demonstrated ability to identify cross‑functional interdependencies and anticipate risk.
• Track record of leading and influencing matrixed teams without formal authority.
• Exceptional communicator with clear decision-making and escalation.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering; advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of products through PDP Phases 0–6: ideation, design, testing, production, and deprecation.
• Build and own the integrated product development schedule with milestones and critical paths.
• Own Exit Gate readiness and ensure deliverables are defined, tracked, and met.
• Support Product Management in system‑level trade‑offs and value/cost assessments.
• Own the cross‑functional plan across engineering, product management, supply chain, manufacturing, and operations.
• Map interdependencies and surface second/third-order effects before changes.
• Drive schedule adherence with defined owners and dates.
• Collaborate with the Principal Commercial Program Manager on design maturity and documentation.
• Lead, coach, and develop Technical Project Managers and escalate with recommendations.
