Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced tooling fabrication and assembly expert to drive design for manufacturability across aerospace tooling projects. You will collaborate with engineers and tool designers, ensuring manufacturability and quality from design through build, including welding and large tooling applications.

The role emphasizes strong blueprint interpretation, CAD proficiency, and cross-functional teamwork to meet safety and schedule goals in a cutting-edge manufacturing

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in tooling fabrication and assembly, preferably in aerospace.
• Strong model/blueprint interpretation skills for welding and tool assembly.
• Detail-oriented with effective communication in fast-paced teams.
• Experience collaborating with Tool Designers and Engineers through design and build.

Responsibilities

• Engage in design prior to the PDR phase and drive fabrication changes.
• Implement changes to accommodate in-house fabrication capabilities.
• Provide final approval for manufacturability.
• Collaborate with fabrication planners to manage build sequence and schedule.
• Interrogate CAD models for fit, form, and function.
• Inspect components and assemblies for blueprint conformance, including GD&T interpretation.
• Develop an inspection plan and final inspection report for tooling.
• Align work priorities with Blue Origin objectives with leadership.
• Enhance safety and efficiency in assembly processes.
• Define and support repair and rework activities.
