Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Tooling Fabrication professional to lead the design-to-build process for large tooling and assemblies. You will interpret weldments, coordinate with engineers, and drive fabrication improvements to ensure safe, high-quality spaceflight hardware.

The role emphasizes collaboration across manufacturing, tooling design, and quality to deliver robust tooling for aerospace projects. A strong background in machining, welding, and 5S/FOD practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in tooling fabrication and assembly.
• Strong model/blueprint interpretation skills for welding and tool assembly.
• Detail-oriented with effective communication in fast-paced team environments.

Responsibilities

• Engage in design prior to PDR, drive fabrication changes to achieve manufacturability.
• Assess in-house fabrication capabilities and provide final approval for manufacturability.
• Coordinate with fabrication planners to manage build sequence and tooling specifications.
• Interrogate CAD models for fit, form and function and develop inspection plans.
