Job summary

Indeed is seeking a Software Engineer VI to serve as a Technical Fellow for the Interop space, guiding architectural direction across integration domains and setting the technical strategy for B2B surface connections with ATS/HRIS partners. You will lead a 40-50 engineer team, drive reliability, and promote clear design standards.

You'll collaborate with senior engineers, product leaders, and executives to shape scalable solutions, influence engineering practices, and deliver business impact

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 15+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 12+ years; or a PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience designing and evolving service-oriented architectures, distributed systems, APIs, and data platforms (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience applying AI/ML capabilities to accelerate architecture, development velocity, and integration quality at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural assessment and simplification across multiple teams or domains.
• Partner with senior engineers, technical leaders, and business partners to guide architectural decisions and system evolution.
• Establish and promote mechanisms for documenting architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Translate architectural needs and user feedback into improvements for shared platforms, tools, or processes.
• Contribute code and design improvements to internal systems, maintaining high quality and maintainability.
• Influence architectural standards and best practices across the engineering organization.
