Job summary

The Freeman Company, a global events leader, seeks a Technical Director to lead technical strategy and production execution from concept to completion. The role requires senior client engagement, team leadership, and coordination of pre-, on-site, and post-production activities across complex events.

You will oversee safety, staffing, and workflows, mentoring staff and aligning resources with budgets, schedules, and client expectations. Hybrid schedule with travel to show sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 15 yrs experience in project management with at least 10 yrs in corporate events, entertainment, or theater.
• Ability to engineer instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to communicate installation and troubleshooting of various equipment.
• Ability to apply problem-solving techniques with labor teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops senior level relationships with clients to position Company as a strategic partner.
• Collaborates with clients, sales, operations and project managers to design event structures and coordinate pre-production, onsite, and post-production within budget.
• Mentors and coaches team members for growth and development.
• Negotiates client contracts on behalf of senior staff.
• Oversees load-in, load-out, and installation; coordinates on-site crews.
