Job summary

Good People Recruitment is partnering with a well-established women’s fashion house to hire a Senior Technical Designer for its woven ready-to-wear line in New York City.

You’ll own the technical side of each style from first sample through production, building complete tech packs, grading specs, and guiding fit across sizes, while collaborating with design, product development, and production to keep the calendar on track.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical design experience.
• Strong command of fit, specs, and patternmaking.
• Working knowledge of PLM, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Sharp attention to detail and ability to juggle many deadlines and changing priorities.
• Clear, confident communication with internal teams and overseas vendors.

Responsibilities

• Take styles from early sample through pre-production fit approval.
• Build complete tech packs and graded specs, and use patterns to correct fit, shape, and silhouette.
• Run live fit sessions and turn around clear, timely fit comments to factory partners.
• Give vendors grading direction after approval and check that fit holds across the size range.
• Work closely with design, product development, and production to keep the calendar on track, and maintain the development WIP tracker.
