Job summary

Modular is seeking a Senior Technical Community Manager to grow the developer ecosystem around Mojo and MAX. You will own end-to-end programs—Champions, Bay Area meetups, virtual calls, and hackathons—across Discord, X, and LinkedIn. This operator role includes logistics, content, and community leadership.

US/Canada candidates are welcome; those earlier in career may work hybrid from Los Altos, CA with in-person onboarding. Travel to events is expected, up to twice monthly at conferences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software community management or related field.
• Experience running multiple programs or event series simultaneously.
• Experience building champion or advocacy programs including recruitment and onboarding.
• Ability to write copy, manage vendors and own programs end to end.
• Daily use of AI tools in work.
• Hands-on event operations: venues, vendors, staffing, run-of-show.
• Comfort communicating with highly technical audiences.
• Active participant at conferences with talks/workshops.
• Experience promoting new technologies via blogs, webinars, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex ideas.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate Champions program from nomination through rewards and local support.
• Run recurring in-person Bay Area meetups with logistics ownership.
• Moderate virtual community calls and curate social media presence.
• Plan and execute hackathons and conferences; manage venue sourcing and speaker recruitment.
• Develop playbooks, documentation, and community guidelines across platforms.
