Job summary

Modular seeks a Senior Technical Community Manager to grow the Mojo and MAX developer communities. The role runs multiple programs—Champions, meetups, virtual calls, hackathons, and social media—while managing events end-to-end and engaging highly technical audiences.

You will own community voice on X and LinkedIn, curate demos, plan conferences, and build scalable systems to enable champions to run events independently.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software community management, developer relations, technical field marketing, or technical program management experience.
• Experience running multiple programs or event series simultaneously with scalable systems.
• Experience building champion or advocacy programs including recruiting and onboarding.
• Comfort operating without a marketing team, writing copy, managing vendors, and owning programs end to end.
• Daily use of AI tools in work.
• Hands-on event operations experience: venues, vendors, staffing, logistics.
• Comfort communicating with highly technical people.
• Experience as an active participant at conferences and events, giving talks and workshops.
• Experience promoting new technologies through blogs, newsletters, webinars.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and documentation.
• Passion for staying up to date with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Lead community programs end-to-end, including Champions program and local events.
• Run recurring in-person Bay Area meetups with full logistics ownership.
• Moderate virtual community calls and manage community voice on social platforms.
• Plan and execute hackathons and conferences with venue sourcing and speaker recruitment.
• Curate projects and demos, promote via social media, and maintain playbooks and docs.
• Coordinate with event vendors, budgets, and calendars to keep programs on track.
• Foster discussion and knowledge sharing among highly technical users.
• Participate in conferences and events as an active promoter of Modular tech.
