Job summary

Alignment Health seeks a senior accounting leader to manage external reporting, GAAP compliance, and technical accounting for complex transactions. You will lead 10-K/10-Q/8-K filings, ensure SOX 404 compliance, and coordinate with Internal Audit and external auditors.

Strong leadership and executive communication are essential. The role reports to the Controller and collaborates across finance, legal, and operations to drive accurate, audit-ready financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• CPA license required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX 404, and PCAOB standards.
• Big Four public accounting experience or equivalent technical accounting background.
• Proven ability to manage external reporting cycles in a large, complex organization.
• Strong leadership and people-management experience.
• Exceptional communication skills, including executive-level presentation capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation, review, and filing of external reporting deliverables (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K).
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, Reg S-X, Reg S-K.
• Coordinate reporting timelines with internal partners and external auditors.
• Serve as technical accounting authority for complex transactions (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805).
• Lead preparation of technical memos, position papers, and audit-ready documentation.
• Monitor emerging GAAP standards and implement new guidance across the enterprise.
• Work with the corporate controller to enforce accounting policies.
• Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors on control testing and documentation.
• Escalate issues that require attention.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors during reviews and audits.
• Promote collaboration and cross-functional relationships to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Support complex transactions, new business initiatives, system implementations, and strategic projects.
