Job summary

Alignment Health is seeking an AVP of Accounting & SEC Reporting to lead external financial reporting, oversee technical accounting matters, and liaise with SOX/internal auditors in a multi-entity environment.

You will drive accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, and PCAOB standards, partnering with executives to strengthen internal controls and reporting integrity across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• 8+ years of public accounting experience with a Big Four background.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX 404 and PCAOB standards.
• Experience managing external reporting cycles in a large, multi-entity organization.
• Proven ability to lead and influence across cross-functional teams and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation, review, and filing of external reporting including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and footnote disclosures.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, Reg S-X/S-K, and reporting guidance.
• Coordinate reporting timelines with internal partners and external auditors.
• Serve as technical accounting authority for complex transactions (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805).
• Prepare technical accounting memos, position papers, and audit-ready docs.
• Monitor new GAAP guidance and implement across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with internal audit and external auditors on control testing and documentation.
