Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Development Manager / Technical Lead to lead and empower an IT development team. You will balance hands‑on coding with strategic leadership, guide architecture and delivery, and collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into actionable plans.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, mentoring, and governance across SDLC practices, with a focus on delivering high‑quality software for complex waterfront infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in people leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record as both a people manager and hands‑on contributor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the development team with a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
• Guide architecture, solution design, and coding standards; ensure delivery discipline.
• Perform hands‑on development on high‑priority, complex solutions.
• Set goals, provide coaching and performance evaluations.
• Drive accountability for delivery, quality, and documentation in approved tools.
• Partner with Business Analyst to clarify requirements and prioritize initiatives.
• Monitor timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Conduct design/code reviews and mentor developers in solution design and problem solving.
• Define UAT criteria with Business Analyst and support ready delivery.
• Foster continuous learning and maintain up‑to‑date documentation.
