Job summary

Amazon's ARI team seeks a Senior for Science Investments to own the full lifecycle from discovery to partnerships with world-class researchers and academic startups. You will identify institutions, evaluate opportunities, and shape long-term innovation strategies across Horizon teams.

You will build structured engagements (Centers, Hubs, ARA) and measure impact to justify investments, partnering across Amazon's technology organizations and influencing SVP-level leaders without authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
• 5+ years in technical business development, technology strategy, or applied research
• Experience translating ambiguous business needs into structured strategies

Responsibilities

• Scout and identify world-class academic institutions, scientists, startups, consortiums, government organizations, and non-profits for partnerships with Amazon ARI.
• Develop and execute research investment strategies for investments over $1M in academic partnerships.
• Formalize partnerships with researchers and academic startups aligned to near-, mid-, and long-term innovation requirements.
• Translate business problems into research proposals and coordinate across orgs to maximize impact and avoid duplication.
