Job summary

Capstone Copper Pinto Valley in Globe-Miami, AZ is seeking a Sr. Supervisor – Tailings & Water to lead TSF operations, water management, and safety programs.

You will supervise a team of professionals and contractors, coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and processing, and ensure compliance with MSHA and company standards. The role emphasizes plan development, budgeting, performance reporting, and continuous improvement of tailings and water infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervision, maintenance, construction management, project management, and/or safety experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of tailings operations, TSFs, water management systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Ability to coordinate and execute operational plans with manpower, equipment, and contractors.
• Excellent cross-functional coordination and leadership across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance with site standards, MSHA regulations, and company procedures.
• Direct tailings deposition, TSF activities, pump house operations, and water management.
• Oversee daily tailings deposition and TSF activities per plans and engineering requirements.
• Manage site water systems including pumps, pipelines, and reclaim systems.
• Build and maintain an effective workforce through recruitment, training, and performance Management.
• Coordinate with Training to deliver required programs and provide coaching.
• Develop short- and long-term work plans; allocate resources to meet targets.
• Support budget management, cost control, and KPI reporting.
• Provide guidance to site leadership on tailings and water planning and improvements.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions.
