Job summary

Capstone Copper seeks a Sr. Supervisor – Tailings & Water at Pinto Valley in Globe-Miami, AZ. Lead tailings deposition and site water management, coordinating with Engineering, Processing, Maintenance, and more. Manage personnel, budgets, and continuous improvements to safeguard operations.

You will oversee safety, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional execution, with a strong focus on reliability, efficiency, and cost control in a demanding mining environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of combined experience in supervision, maintenance, construction management, project management, and/or safety within mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Demonstrated experience supervising employees and contractors in a field-based mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong working knowledge of tailings operations, TSFs, water management systems, pump houses, pumps, pipelines, ponds, and reclaim systems.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and execute operational plans involving manpower, equipment, maintenance, contractors, and other resources.
• Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple departments.
• Effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook, proficiency.
• Ability to understand and apply engineering plans, operating procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• English communication proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Safety & compliance: ensure employees and contractors follow safety standards and regulations.
• Operational leadership: direct tailings deposition and TSF activities, pump house operations, and water management to meet objectives.
• Tailings & TSF management: oversee daily tailings deposition and TSF activities as per plans.
• Water management: direct site water management infrastructure and operations.
• Workforce management: recruit, train, and develop the team; ensure task qualification.
• Planning & resource allocation: develop short- and long-term work plans; allocate resources.
• Budget & cost control: manage costs to meet targets within approved budgets.
• Project execution: establish timelines and resources for readiness and field work.
• Reporting & data management: capture and report tailings, water, safety, and operational data.
